Ryan Bussiere's New Single "The Silver Screen" Is Made For True Romantics

Many of us know that feeling, the feeling of when you are so in love, everything feels like a movie. The sun shines brighter, the air is lighter, and you feel like the only thing that exists is you and the person you love. It is a feeling that is hard to capture, but Ryan Bussiere does so effortlessly in his new single release," The Silver Screen," which came out November 24th.

The beginning of the song starts with the playing of the guitar and the sound of a film roll. The clever use of this subtle sound submerges us into Bussiere’s epic love story through the frame of a movie. This simple beginning effectively sets up the analogy he bases his lyrics on. We are exposed to this immediately with his first line, “I only have you on film, so I save each frame.” The song comes together like a film, with each word propelling us through his world. And with each second, the audience grows more attached to the characters, Bussiere and his love.

The lyrics of the chorus are easy to remember because of the tune, and because of the emotional value it adds to the song's story. This is shown as he sings the lines, “You’re the leading lady, and I’ll be the leading man,” and “critics will rave of the parts that we played long after we've left the silver screen,” These lines featured in the chorus are particularly effective because of the dropping of instrumentalization back to only guitar.

The instrumentalization encapsulates the beautifully, and Bussiere’s impressive writing performance is only matched by his robust vocal performance. He uses a soft, heartfelt tone throughout the verses of his song and his chorus to create a strong pacing for the song emotionally and sonically. His background vocals are wonderfully placed, creating a dreamy background, and his switch to belting during the final chorus of the song brings the song to its peak, keeping the listener at the edge of their seats.

Bussiere’s performance brings the story home and gives us an ending any hopeless romantic would adore.
